Whats your favorite ………Metal wind chimes or Bamboo wind chimes?
I Love the music from wind chimes no matter what they are playing. Did you know they never repeat the same tune, so when you hear the chimes just know it will never be played the exact same way again.
My favorite is the Bamboo, I wish there were some way to keep them from falling apart!
except for maybe retying the bamboo with fishing line, dry rot just happens in weather. i have both types of windchimes. i get more favorable comments on the bamboo one. it does have a unique sound of its own. i even love the sound of the small glass ones. it has a pretty sound
Wind music. Just head the most incredible chimes, tuned to perfect pitch, metal is my preference. Champagne taste, beer budget. agree and concurr, sweet peace sound all of them.
I have bamboo on my front porch, cuz the tone is softer and can't handle the harsh weather so well.
I have metal wind chimes on the trees around my garden, deer hate them. I also hang metal chimes in spots people don't expect a windchime to be… corner of the garage, a corner of the yard, etc. I enjoy them too. Thanks for the good question!
How do you decide that? Both have their own sound. I love then all.
I love all wind chimes. They do make beautiful music.
In my opinion, bamboo chimes are a softer, more gentle sound. It just seems more relaxing than the 'bing-bong' sound of most metal chimes.
I have a couple bamboo chimes in my yard. The best way I've found to keep them from 'falling apart' is to try to keep them out of the weather, under an awning, under the cover of a porch, etc.
I find the bamboo ones more soothing and if you live fairly close to neighbors, it is not so loud.If you hang them under some cover, they will hold up better for longer.
Bamboo are much less annoying!

You could coat your bamboo pipes with a light spray of Polyurethane. You can buy it in most stores. A light coating will help protect and seal the bamboo without changing the pitch of the pipe.
