Unique Folk Art Place – DanTraveling

See Paradise Gardens in this REM video (Radio Free Europe) filmed there. www.youtube.com This Southern Life, Howard Finster’s Paradise Gardens. Jan and I had a chance to stop by Paradise Gardens in Georgia last month on vacation. Wow you have to see this collection of art created by the objects others discarded. It is an amazing place and if you are ever in northern Georgia you should stop by and see it for yourself. In addition to painting REM, Blackhawk and Talking Head Album covers, Howard Finster was the grandfather of religious folk art. The problem with your new video idea is that
    people LEARN something.

You can make silly comedies along with the learning :-) )

Thanks William, I honestly thought of your prolific artistic ability when I read about Howard’s Place. He painted over 10,000 paintings and numbered them all to keep up with his quantity.

Yes you should get some land and we will come video your work!

Hey thanks wolfdreams! Whats a GPS? ha
we rely more on the Rand McNally! Maybe thats why we find these places, because we are lost!

Wow, that’s incredible. I have not always been this way. I was always artistic, but it wasn’t until about 2 years ago that I started doing so much. I have more in the past year than probably my whole life put together.

Thank you very much for making and posting this video.
American Folk Art is a rich and intruiging artform, and it is a pleasure to see it documented so well here

I love this… I like the idea of doing videos about Southern people. I took some great video of a proprietor at a bed and breakfast in Alabama…I wish I could do something this cool with the clips I have. Awesome!!!
